BLOG POST 1
(X) aka Twitter's influence on society.
Twitter communication is powered by a combination of technology and algorithms. Multiple key components play a part in making Twitter communication work. Including followers and following, hashtags, mentions, trending topics, and timelines. Are all influenced by the way your individual platform is set up and the things you do.
The platform influences everyone in different ways but for me, it is a way to communicate, learn, and discover. From all things from what makes you laugh to very serious issues, like who even is running âXâ.
Overall Twitterâs impact on society is multifaceted and is able to facilitate communication, information dissemination, and social interaction because it is a social media platform.
The real resonation for Twitter for me is that it is an area where one can amplify their voice. Twitter has been instrumental in amplifying the voices of underrepresented groups and marginalized communities. It provides a platform for individuals and organizations to raise awareness about social justice issues, share their experiences, and advocate for change. According to ABC News between May 25 and June 15,2020, an outstanding 390 million tweets in the US were about the Black Lives Matter movement.
Another reason it is influential is because of the political engagement. âXâ plays a significant role in political communication. Politicians, government officials, and political activists use the platform to reach their constituents, share policy, and announcements, and engage in political discourse, it has become vital for election campaigns and political movements. While this can be good and bad, some may use this power in the wrong ways. There are a few examples below from former president Trump expressing his thoughts on Twitter:
The brand's planning team does intense research in order to fulfill the needs of its users. While lately, things have been different, brand planning teams are here to understand the app better for individuals and design it to their liking. Twitter undergrow a groundbreaking study sharing it with its audience: The analysis uncovered the unique roles that Twitter plays within each community and the reasons people engage with their communities. For brands, the research identified what they can do to make sure that when they get involved with these communities, they can be successful. The study uncovered key motives for people taking part in their communities. These included feeling part of a broader conversation, staying connected, and accessing up-to-date information and news. There was also a place for discovering entertaining content and receiving emotional support and like said before the opportunity to influence others. Â
Everyone gets their information in some way or another. I feel as though this would not be a sight for everyone to use. Including politicians if their power is missteered, or people that would not use it for its intended purpose but rather to troll and create an issue for other users on the app.

Jane Austen's most romantic letter, if it had been written by Lucien Vanserra (Persuasion x Elucien)
Or what would happen if Lucien overheard Elain have a conversation about the bond? And what if he wrote a gut-wrenching love confession in said letter? Inspired by literature's most infamously romantic letter ever written.
Some text is directly taken from Chapter 23 of Persuasion by Jane Austen.
"We will write the letter to Helion we were talking of, Rhysand, now, if you will give me materials."
Materials were at hand, on a separate table; Lucien went to it, and nearly turning his back to the rest of the Inner Circle, was engrossed by writing.
Elain eyed him carefully, studying the leather strap that held back his long, molten red hair. Clearing her throat, she found Nesta across the room by the open window of the parlor as they were both on the outskirts of the Inner Circleâs political discussions. It was a respectable distance from where Lucien was writing at the desk, although still somewhat nearby.Â
âI have a question for you,â Nesta turned to her younger sister, face like stone. âOne that I have been thinking about for some time. What do you think our parents would have thought about the mating bond?âÂ
With wide, brown eyes Elain sucked in her breath. It was an unexpected question, but also a familiar one. For her thoughts had circled the very same doubts and insecurities that plagued her sister. âWell,â Elain wrung her hands nervously. âMother would have adored Feyreâs, being mated to a High Lord after all. But if she didnât like the outcome, she would have demanded a way to break it or alter it for her own advantage.âÂ
Nestaâs wicked grin revealed an agreement, knowing full well their mother would have been furious at her marriage and bond with an Illyrian general, and her matching status as a Valkyrie now.Â
âAs for father, well, I suppose, based on what he discussed with me in the pastâthere is a small chance he would have been disappointed.â Her voice dropped in both volume and confidence, barely escaping as a whisper passed her lips. As if she was instinctually afraid someone would hear, perhaps someone sitting across the room.Â
Elain felt compelled to explain further. âHe always told me the most important thing to find in a husband was true love. That I should not settle for anyone less than a kind, loyal heart who loves every part of me, because that kind of love will never leave you.âÂ
Out of the corner of her eye, Nesta regarded her with furrowed eyebrows. âAnd you do not believe that a mating bond can also encompass those very same feelings? That same love?âÂ
She considered her question carefully, chewing on her bottom lip. âPerhaps it can, but how can you know it is true? That it is not just the manifestation of desire in its place?â It was always that doubt, that fear, that crept into the darkest crevices of her heart. For as long as those shadows existed, she could not bring herself closer to her own mate, afraid she would be unable to determine the answer. In return, she was afraid of what she could possibly want or feel for him.
âI wish I could make you comprehend, Elain.â Nesta frowned, âI wish I could properly convey the feeling of how your soul glows when your mate loves youââ
Before Nesta could continue, Elain found herself apologizing with a hand on her elbow. âGods forbid that I should undervalue the love and bond you share with Cassian, or Feyreâs either for that matter. It is a reminder that bonds can be true and constant attachments.â
She could not immediately have uttered another sentence; her heart was too full, her breath too much oppressed.
âYouâre a good sister,â Nesta replied affectionately and Elain wonder if her sister could see past her tenderness, if anyone could witness the mask of kindness that Elain could so easily put on for the sake of others to hide her own feelings. The conversation faded as Feyre now joined them with Nyx on her hip, a welcome distraction for Elain as the three of them turned to him.Â
âReady to go?â Cassianâs voice eventually broke through the hum of the room, an echo across the parlor. âWe need to meet with Vassa and Jurian.â Lucien was folding up a letter in great haste, and either could not or would not answer fully.
âYes,â he said. âI will winnow us. I will be ready in half a minute.âÂ
Cassian left to wait for him at the front door, and Lucien, having sealed his letter with great rapidity, was indeed ready, with a hurried and agitated air, as if he was greatly impatient to leave. Elain could not understand it. Cassian had given her a smile and shoulder a warm squeeze as he left the room, but from Lucien himself, not a single word. He had passed out of the room without a look. Â
Elain moved closer to the table where he had been writing, when suddenly she heard footsteps returning; the door opened and it was Lucien. He gave her a polite nod and gestured to where he had forgotten his gloves, instantly crossing the room to the desk. He drew out a letter from under the scattered papers, placed it before Elain with eyes glowing in longing fixed on her, and hastily collected his gloves, once again out of the room before anyone could even be aware he had been in it at all.Â
The interaction was almost beyond expression. The letter, with strokes of pen that were hardly legibly, as if rushed, read âElain Archeron,â was evidently the one which he had been folding so hastily. While he had supposedly been writing to Helion, he had also been addressing her. On the contents of that letter depended all which this world could do for her. Anything was possible. Sinking into the chair which he had occupied, succeeding to the very spot where he had leaned and written, her eyes devoured the following words:
âI can listen no longer in silence. I must speak to you by such means as are within my reach. You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when this bond first snapped, two and a half years ago. Dare not say that a mateâs love cannot be true, that his love is influenced by our tether. I have loved another, but none like you. Unjust I may have been, distant and resentful I have been, but never inconstant. You alone have brought me to Velaris. For you alone, I think and plan. Have you not seen this? Can you fail to have understood my wishes? I had not waited even these past few days after Solstice, could I have read your feelings, as I think you must have penetrated mine, I can hardly write. I am every instant hearing something which overpowers me. You sink your voice, but I can distinguish your true thoughts through the bond when they would be lost on others. Too good, too excellent female! You do us justice, indeed. You do believe that there is true attachment and constancy among males. Believe it to be most fervent, most undeviating in your mate, L.V. I must go, uncertain of my fate; but I shall return hither, or follow the court, as soon as possible. A word, a look, will be enough to decide whether I enter the Night Court this evening or never again.âÂ
Such a letter was not to be soon recovered from.Â

HELLO ANNIE oh shit that was in all caps, anyways! what got you into forensics? I wanna change my major soooo bad like you did but im literally in my junior year ALSO youre the epitome of standing on business, love you (ay it back or else!)
Hi there, thank you for the question! I think it was just a curiosity Iâve had in the back of my mind since middle school, but I didnât think Iâd ever get a chance to look into it at all, what with my extensively planned out life. But when I ended up at Greendale, completely out of my element with no foreseeable future⌠I decided to just have some fun! âGo with the flowâ, if you will. It took me a while to work up the confidence to change majors, but ultimately I think it was worth it. I really love forensics, and I think that if you believe itâll be good for you then you should change too. I really have no idea what it means for you, but choosing to pursue a genuine interest of mine, one that hadnât been written down on every page slid in front of me since childhood, was one of the best things Iâve ever done for myself.
So, do whatever you feel is best â and I love you too âĄ
#ask annie!#community nbc#nbc community#(disclaimer i am in HIGH SCHOOL and do not advocate for any actual important education decisions to be made due to my influence) <- ooc#(i donât think the advice of a gimmick blog would really be that persuasive but. never the less skdjdkdkdk)#(anyways this one was rly heartfelt but i thought on it for a while and why annie /did/ choose forensics)#(and i always love reflecting on her growth throughout the series)#(so i think her choosing a major for fun was actually very important and it makes me smile to think about <3)

"Uh, Meetra?" Atton flipped down the hood on one of the downed Sith. "This one's a kid. Just so you know."
Meetra turned, looking with horror at the small, baby-faced girl bleeding on the floor. She couldn't be more than eighteen, more like sixteen at a guess. "Fuck." She hurried over and knelt beside the kid, pressing her hand over the chest wound and pouring out Force healing.
Atton leaned against the wall, his arms crossed. "Could just finish her. I won't tell anyone. She's still a Sith, after all."
Meetra sighed. "Yeah, and Visas is a Sith, and you used to be a Sith, and this one is a child. Help me stabilize her."
Atton sighed. He stared at her, his arms crossed and his brow furrowed as he warred with himself for a few seconds before relunctantly standing up off the wall and kneeling down on the other side of the Sith. He checked her pulse and touched her forehead with the back of his hand. "I don't know if she's gonna make it, boss." His tone was dry, with a distinct lack of sympathy.
Meetra tore off the bottom of her undershirt to make a bandage. "I don't know if you're testing me or you just hate kids, but I don't appreciate it."
"I do not hate kids," he said hotly. He helped her lift the girl up and tie the bandage around her wound to keep pressure. "I just hate Jedi, and by the time they get to be 12 or 14 they're more Jedi than they are a kid."
Meetra grimaced. She had a mind to protest him talking about Jedi like they were less than people, but she could remember having several conversations like this, justifying the deaths of young soldiers in the Mandalorian War, how war stripped them of their right to innocence. "Elevate her wound," she said instead. "And keep pressure on it."
Atton hesitated another half second before shrugging off his jacket, folding it to make an improvised cushion and prop the Sith's torso off the ground. "You're washing that for me later." He pressed his hands down on the wound while Meetra resumed trying to close it with the Force.
"I think you can handle it," Meetra muttered. "More experience getting blood out of your clothes."
"You think she deserves to live more than the others? They all tried to kill us. You stabbed her, so you'd already decided to kill her before I pointed out she's young."
Meetra didn't answer for several minutes. Instead she concentrated as hard as she could on making the kid's guts and flesh knit back together the way they were supposed to be, bringing the wound as far along it's healing cycle as she could. It was slow, tense work, and once she'd reached the length of her energy there was still some surface damage and mild internal tearing, but at least the Sith wasn't torn open anymore. Now she just had to worry about the blood loss that couldn't be so easily undone.
Meetra took her hands back from the Sith and wiped her hands on her own pants, smearing off some of the blood. "The others were already dead. And I think I've killed enough children, okay? Can you respect what I need to do for my conscience?"
Atton frowned, mulling it over. "I don't know."
Meetra sighed and sat back on her ass. She wiped at her sweaty face with her forearm, managing to smear blood on her nose and cheek. "Why'd you tell me anyway?"
He shrugged. "You would've been upset if you noticed and I hadn't said something."
Meetra frowned in a thin line. "So you care more about my feelings than somebody's life. Good to know."
She sat up on her feet and hauled the wounded Sith into her arms, picking her up as she stood. "We're getting her back to the ship. You got my back?"
Atton scrambled to his feet as she started walking back. "Hey, hold up! I mean yeah, I do, but you better lock up the medbay if you're gonna bring her, cause I'm not playing around."
"Me or Visas will sit with her and we'll have HK on the door. We'll drop her off at Yavin and be gone."
"Great," he muttered, following. "Let her be someone else's problem. We're not a Sith rescue service."
"Aren't we, Atton?"
"Uh-uh. Sparing the cute ones doesn't count."
Meetra adjusted the Sith's weight in her arms. She wondered if Visas felt like that. An exception. A pet. Like Meetra had handed her her life rather than Visas earning it. She kept her feet as steady as she could on the rocky ground, unwilling to stumble. "Sparing isn't always a mercy anyway."
#griffin writes#as usual this is from a while ago but i felt like posting it now#meetra surik#r: meant every word#my fic#when i wrote this i rolled an actual persuasion check for meetra to see if atton would help#this is so far the only time I've done that but i might do it more#mostly with atton and side characters because mical visas and bao dur are pretty much always onside#(unless it's about jedi training :/)#and the others are. more complicated#i like simulating Agency for atton and giving some weight to the fact that he has conflicting motivations#and is often actively resisting the exile's influence#and it feels a little more real when he ends up doing what they want anyway

The Power of Persuasion: Techniques to Influence and Convince.
Ever wonder how different minds think alike? Or how board rooms meeting are concluded successfully or how teams get over crucial conversations with stakeholders? It is through an effective communication strategy known as persuasion. In this blog we will be covering what persuasion skill really means, the ways to be using it and the manner in which you persuade and respond to persuasion.
What is persuasion?
Persuasion is the skill of getting people to agree with your idea or viewpoint. It isnât the same as convincing someone as it also involves people agreeing and working differently now that they have agreed to your idea. It is a very powerful skill that helps you mould peopleâs thoughts and actions. In essence, it is a way of modifying your communication skills in a way that allows messages to be delivered in a manner that sway the opinions, thoughts and behaviours of individual person and groups of people.
What role does it play in professional lives?
Persuasion is an important skill to have in professional domains because it helps you have a slight edge over people. This method of communication when learned and mastered can yield endless results. As a leader it becomes crucial to persuade your team to see the meaning and purpose to your vision, this skill is also beneficial if you are a part of a team and are trying to pitch a new idea or a new way of working. Persuasion is a crucial skill for any business owner pitching to potential clients or investors, as it enables them to effectively communicate the value and vision of their business and inspire confidence in its potential. Outside of the workplace, persuasion is equally valuable when making personal requests or seeking support from others. Whether asking for a favour, proposing an idea, or resolving conflicts, effective persuasion helps you communicate your needs clearly, fostering understanding and collaboration.
Principles of persuasion:
These are the principles of persuasion that explain why people say yes to you.
1. Credibility:
The easiest way to persuade someone is to be trusted, be credible enough to win their trust. Credibility is built through relationships and through expertise. You either have to an expert in your line of work so that people take your word above their opinions or be so good in your relationships with people that they trust in your plan.
2. Find common grounds:
Many business leaders approach persuasion narrowly, focusing on why an idea is good in general rather than on how it benefits their audience specifically. Effective persuasion means highlighting the unique advantages for those youâre addressing. To do so, itâs essential to understand their core challenges and priorities deeply.
3. Use Evidence:
People are more likely to be persuaded when shown that an idea actually works. Effective persuasion blends hard evidence with emotionally engaging examples and stories. Research shows that decision-making is deeply tied to emotions. Use effective storytelling so that people are able to resonate, remember key points and are persuaded easily.
4. Practice patience and persistence:
Persuasion takes time and persistence. Itâs rare to win someone over right away, especially on complex issues. Be prepared for ongoing discussions, and keep a calm, steady approach to improve your chances of success over time.
5. Confidence:
Be confident in your message so that you can assure people of what the outcome will be. When you express certainty, it sends a strong signal that youâve considered your points carefully and stand behind them. This can make your message more persuasive because people are naturally drawn to those who seem sure of themselves and their ideas
How to use persuasion?
Use a tailor made approach for persuasion by understanding the values and interests of your audience. Donât be pushy but rather gently persuade them with the message in these ways:
1. Effective Communication:
Use language that is easily understood and connect with the audience at their level by trying to use examples that are relevant to them.
2. Active Listening:
You are likely to be met with opposition when trying to persuade people, at this moment your listening skills would be in your favour. Listen to them actively and in this manner people would feel heard and then would be able to trust you better.
3. Bring body language to your aide:
Mirror and match your body language with the person you are trying to persuade. This mild psychological trick gives off an impression of you being on the same side as of the other person and immediately breaks the ice.
4. Get your timing right:
Everyone can be persuaded but the timing needs to be correct. Identify a timing when you can approach someone, build rapport and help them see a situation from viewpoint.
How to respond to persuasion?
These tips would help you to respond to persuasion in a better way:
1. Be self aware:
Know why you believe in a cause and stand your ground on it. Be aware about the possible ways in which you can be persuaded and try understanding why you believe in your cause or idea more.
2. Be open:
Evaluate what is being said to you instead of being defensive with your points. Understand the benefits and the downside of what is being told to you and then decide.
3. Ask questions:
Seek clarification and ask questions which will help you understand what is being told to you in a better way. This would help you also understand your own ideas better.
Conclusion:
Persuasion is a skill that is advantageous both at the workplace and in your personal lives. It is a powerful communication tool and can help you in winning conversations and turning tables. It is also a helpful tool in building professional relationships. The key point in dealing with persuasion, whether you are persuading or being persuaded is to maintain your core integrity!

Six-axis model of influence
**WARNING** The following text is simply a tool. Like a hammer, it can be used to build something or break something. Like a scalpel, it can be used to save a life or end a life. The ethics in using the tool lies in the hands of the user. The manufacturer cannot assume responsibility for how the tool is used.
The Six-Axis Model of Influence:
The first four elements are leveraged to influence the "ancestor" within a person â the primal part of their brain that governs their actions and decisions: Focus, Authority, Tribe/Trauma, Emotion.
The first axis, focus, refers to the ability to prioritize and direct our attention. By understanding what truly matters to us and where we should invest our focus, we can effectively influence others.
The next axis is openness, which measures a person's willingness to be vulnerable. Building trust and creating allies requires a certain level of vulnerability, as it allows for genuine connections to be formed. By being open and honest with others, we invite them to do the same, fostering an environment of trust and collaboration.
Connection, the third axis, measures the level of interpersonal connection a person feels. We are social beings by nature, and our connections with others play a significant role in our overall well-being. Building strong connections with those around us is crucial in creating lasting alliances built on trust and mutual understanding.
Expectancy, the fourth axis, refers to a person's belief that something positive will happen in the future. It is the hope and optimism that drives us to take action and pursue our goals. By instilling a sense of expectancy in others, we can motivate and inspire them to join us in our endeavors.
Compliance: Compliance refers to a person's willingness to respond to a direct command.
Suggestibility: Suggestibility measures their inclination to act on a suggested action. The lower a person is on Maslow's pyramid of needs, the more susceptible they are to suggestibility. There is no exception to that rule.
By understanding where someone falls on these axes, we can tailor our approach to effectively influence their behavior.
In conclusion, understanding human behavior and mastering the art of persuasion is an invaluable skill that can help us overcome our fears and insecurities. Six-Axis Model of Influence provides a comprehensive framework for building trust and creating allies.
By focusing on the key elements of focus, authority, trauma, and emotion, and considering the axes of openness, connection, expectancy, compliance, and suggestibility, we can navigate the intricacies of human behavior and forge strong alliances rooted in trust. So, let's embrace this knowledge and unlock our potential for personal development and growth.
